21/12/14

If you can stand for all to see,
And swear, with earnest truth,
It didn't come from enmity,
But ignorance of youth -
Then hold your head up high, my friend,
And let it fade at last -
It's right to care, but in the end,
The lesson's learned and passed.
The young are slow to understand,
And foolish through and through.
You didn't think to lend a hand...
But you would, wouldn't you?

Wow, this one really hit home. I've done some stuff in the past that I'm most definitely not proud of. That has impacted other people negatively, and that I'm really ashamed about. It  doesn't excuse those that have been hurt along the way, but I'm really glad to have learnt from what I've done, and to have come out as a better person.
